Changes to my study programme

A sea of knowledge in a centimeter depth. The first year I heard that phrase from a teacher and I still remember it. I think that can be an advantage or a disadvantage. It depends on you.Today I will write about changes that I would like to make to my study programme. I entered the university in 2012 and since that year there has been some change in the program of studies.

Before entering the subject I believe that it is always important the opinion of the old students, the larger courses and those who work in the different areas of communication regarding the evaluation and changes in a study program.

About the ‘curriculum’ I think it's good, especially in relation to writing in the media and in research. Despite times without subjects in the university related to writing in the media. I also think it is strong in radio and organizational communication and weaker in terms of television due to lack of infrastructure, program initiatives and technical equipment such as cameras and other things.

In general, buildings and infrastructure are adequate and sufficient, although these can always be better. The use of technology in the institute is always good. There is wifi, equipment and teachers know about new trends regarding the subject. Finally the methods of teaching I think are the best within the country. Teachers very well prepared and committed to Chilean society, opportunities and egalitarian growth.

I hope that the study programme grows according to the needs of the population and of our profession. It is important to highlight the university's approach and its role and commitment to Chilean society. The journalist of the Universidad de Chile must stand out and respond in that professional and ethical line.

I plan to work on this summer holidays but ...

Hi guys!

The summer is coming, the holidays are nearing and I´m very happy for that. I need vacations to have free time and  freedom to do different things without the university. I really plan to work in summer like last year but if I could travel somewhere with my family or friends I would like to travel south of Chile.Today I know until ninth region of “La Araucania”, so I would like to visit at least the regions of “Los Rios” and “Los Lagos”. I think it would take me 9 to 11 hours by bus or car to get from Santaigo to the destination.

I have heard that these places are very beautiful. Also I have been told that there are volcanoes, lakes, rivers, forests, animals besides many wonderful and magical things like people. If I went to these places, I would like to go with my family or friends and rest in a rustic cabin in front of a lake or river to be able to see the sunrise and sunset. I think it would be entertaining because we would do many activities.For example, I would enjoy with the kayak or swimming in a river or lake, we would visit villages, fairs, restaurants in these regions. Also, we would walk through the squares, monuments, museums, forests and we would talk with the people of there.

 Honestly, my summer vacation will be boring., but maybe I will practice a lot of sport here in Santiago, mainly football with my friends or I will go to the cinema to see an interesting movie. In addition the city of Santiago is calmer and I enjoy it without so many people or cars.

The movies of my life

For some people the films are an addiction.I’ve known person  that are a fanatics and they can’t be without watching a movie. Really, I’ve seen a lot films but not as much as my brother, he wins me. The last film I saw was Dr.Stranger. It is an excellente film with a incredible British actor as Benedict Cumberbatch. I recommend it to anyone who is reading me.

I really have a lot of favorite movies but today I’ll choose one, Twelve Monkeys. This is a science fiction movie about a criminal who lives a terrible time in Philadelphia with other humans who survived a terrible virus. It is in this context that the protagonist asks scientists to travel to the past to find information to create a cure for the disease. The protagonists of this wonderful film are Bruce Willis, Madeleine Stowe and Brad Pitt.

Personally, I don’t like science fiction movies because they are very pretentious but this film comes out of that paradigm. It has an original and complicated plot. The movie is like a puzzle that makes you think a lot. Also, it keeps you expectant because it has a fantastic setting and has great music.I think I've seen it 2 times. I would recommend it without hesitation and truly always recommend it to my friends.

I would like to see again “Nueve Reinas” or Fight Club. The first of Argentina and the other of the United States. They are two wonderful and entertaining films. If you want to enjoy a good movie, you should see them.

The challenge of postgraduate studies

Hello everyone!

Today in a competitive market is very important to have postgraduate studies. Institutions value that their workers have these types of courses.The completion of a postgraduate degree means more possibilities of work and with a better salary. It also means specializing in an area of ​​your taste. Personally, I would like to study more in the area of ​​organizational or strategic communication because it is a subject that in Chile has not been fully developed.

About the place or country where I would like to study, I believe that I would consider Chile first and to complete it in England or the United States because in these nations there are more papers on the subject. The ideal would be to study full time with a scholarship for graduate students, but a part time course is a good option because you can do many things like to know places and enjoy the city if you study in another country.

To apply for a scholarship for graduate students there are a number of requirements. The State considers the work experience, the publications in specialized magazines, the qualifications, your level of language if you wish to study in another country, among other things.

Finally, it is important to work a few years on the subject.The job will give you the experience and the base to study the postgraduate.In addition, you must raise money if you do not get a scholarship to help you. I hope to do it in a future!

My future job

Hi again friends!

Some people say work dignifies a person's life. Sincerely I agree. I admire all the people who work.I want and I must to work soon. I need money because today I'm student. I don’t have a job and the holidays come!

I would like it in January when I finished university to have a job of journalist. I imagine working in an office in front of a computer.

There I would write a lot .I would go to meetings with my co-workers. The job I imagine it is very similar to the practice I did last summer. During my practice I learned and I did many things like write news for the internal and external communication medium, take photographs with the camera, record and edit videos ,to make visible  the institution for the public or  prepare reports on topics of interest .

I think I have never imagined an outdoor job and I have never believed I'm going to travel a lot with  my profession. I would like to work in a medium of communication making reports, in a government office or a big company in strategic communication or organizational communication. I would like take a area of specialty,a major, linked to the latter.Specifically in public institutions because I like communication within organizations and I think there is a lot to develop in that area. Finally, salary and location is not important to me. But I'm sure a good working environment would help me a lot.

Animals and pets

Dogs are amazing, some people says are "man's best friend" and others persons says are very faithfuls and affectionates pets. Dogs take care of you and your family.In general I agree, for that and more I think are the best pet in the world. I consider myself a dog lover. There are people likes cats but I hate it. Cats are mysterious and unreliable.In my life I’ve had one pet and was a dog. My dog it was called Sanguchon and was of poodle race.Sanguchon came to my house in 2003 and died in 2013.I remember when died it was one of the saddest days of my life.

About if I have ever been bitten by a dog, I would say yes, I have been bitten. I remember when I was a child and I was riding a bicycle and a dog bit me.It was terrible and then I went to the hospital with my mom. Sincerely I believe nobody should buy animals or wear fur coats and people who do that should pay a fine or go to jail for animal trafficking. Animals deserve to live in freedom. Not in zoos and yes in their habitat. I'm sure you have to give them love.

The last book I have read was “Grandes historias del tenis chileno”

Hello everyone!

How many books I have read is a question very difficult.Sincereley I don’t know how many because I never listed them.I rememeber during my school stage I used to read up to ten per year.Today so I only read books from time to time mainly because I owe money in the place where I ask for books, The library of Santiago and also because I don't have money to buy the ones that interest me.

I liked reading a lot in the genre of fiction with Arthur Conan Doyle and his famous detective Sherlock Holmes. Then I began to see series and to read more about crime novels.Finally I think my favorite books are all those written by Arthur Conan Doyle and detective novels.

The last book I have read was “Grandes historias del tenis chileno”.This book  lent it to me a university professor and told anecdotes or chronicles of tennis in the country with great tennis players like Marcelo Ríos,Fernando González or Nicolás Massú. I think the book was not boring but it was very simple. I remember it took me two or three days to read it. I would recommend it only to people who like sports and know some names or characters of Chilean tennis.

"The best holidays..."

Hi everyone again! When I wrote this post I remembered that I must go of holidays soon

My favorite holiday without a doubt was when I traveled for the south of Chile in 2012. In car I visited different places with my family. I live in Santiago and it all started when I took the bus to Concepción to visit to my uncles and my cousins where they live. From Santiago to Concepción it takes six hours in bus or car .In general I know this city and I think is very interesting and attractive to visit but this year was different because we went a other places.I met La Araucanía, ninth region of Chile and the land of the Mapuches.

After a long journey by car with my family we rent a cabin close a lake I always remember to the indigenous inhabitants, they were very quiet and peaceful people.I really enjoyed stay there and see the lakes Galletué and Icalma or the vegetation with the araucarias, typical trees in the area.When we were there we practice kayak .Also we saw forests, volcanoes, rivers and we were on the border with Argentina at the border crossing Pino Hachado.

I would like to visit Italy

Io sono molto felice di scrivere in questo blog (Hello everyone! I’m very happy to write on this blog).For months I have practiced the Italian language but I must to practice more. Sincerely  I have always wanted to go to Italia.I would like to go to Roma, Florencia or Venecia.I have never  been in that country o cities but I had heard of these places. It’s history of world! From I was a student in my school and the professor of history  teached us about geography or history of world  that I have been interested for Italy.

I know many things of this country. Some people say it looks like a boot. For example I love his food. The italian cuisine it’s famous for many dishes. My favorite dish is pasta. In addition Italy is recognized and admired in general by the Roman law and his rich culture.

I would like to know different cities and stadiums because I love the Italian football.Also I see every weekend to the chilean players like Gary Medel or Mauricio Pinilla.For last I would be happy if I could study the Italian language there.
